Getting a suit tailored in Saigon on a short trip

Short answer: book your first appointment for the start of your trip, tell the tailor your departure date before you order, and leave room for at least one fitting. A good tailor will tell you honestly whether your dates are enough before taking the order.

  • Go for measuring on day one or two of your trip.
  • Keep at least one free slot later in the trip for a fitting.
  • Plan the final pickup a day before you leave, not on the morning of your flight.

How many fittings

Most bespoke suits need a measuring session, one or two fittings, and a final check. Fewer fittings are possible when time is short, but every fitting is a chance to correct the shoulders, waist and length.
