When to start
If you live abroad and will only be in Saigon shortly before the wedding, message us with your dates first. We'll tell you plainly what's possible in that window.
Two parts, sometimes two outfits
Many Vietnamese weddings have a family ceremony during the day and a reception in the evening. Some grooms wear one suit throughout; others change for the reception. A dark suit can carry both: swap the tie for a bow tie in the evening.
Colours for a tropical wedding
Bring a photo of the dress and we'll hold the cloth up next to it.
- Bride in bright white: navy, charcoal or black all work. An ivory suit can clash with a white dress, so compare them side by side first.
- Bride in ivory or champagne: a slightly deeper cream, light grey, or navy.
- Daytime or outdoor: lighter colours and lighter cloth; tropical wool or a linen blend.
- Evening reception: a tuxedo, or a dark suit with a satin or velvet lapel.
Suit or tuxedo?
A tuxedo, with its satin or velvet lapels and a bow tie, is the most formal choice and suits an evening reception. A dark suit is more versatile and you'll wear it again for work and other weddings.
Groomsmen and fathers
Groomsmen usually match each other and differ slightly from the groom, with a lighter shade or a different tie, so the groom stands out in photos. Fathers often prefer a dark suit with a little more ease at the waist.
