A suit made in Saigon, cut for you alone.

Plenty of visitors leave Saigon with a suit made for them. If you're thinking of doing the same, this page explains how it works at Draco: how many days to allow, how many fittings, what to bring, and what happens once you're home.

How it works when you're only in town for a few days

Come in as early in your trip as you can, ideally on your first or second day. That leaves room for a fitting and any adjustments before you fly out.

  • Day 1: talk through the occasion and style, choose the cloth in person, and get measured.
  • We draft a paper pattern from your measurements; it's yours and stays on file.
  • First fitting: you try on the jacket while it's still being built, and we adjust shoulders, waist and length.
  • Final fitting and pickup: last tweaks, a final press, and you take it with you.

Bespoke or made-to-measure?

The words get used loosely. Made-to-measure usually means adjusting a standard pattern to your size. Bespoke means a new pattern drafted for one person.

At Draco each suit starts from its own paper pattern, cut from your measurements and notes on your posture and shoulder slope. That pattern is kept, so a second suit doesn't start from zero.

Choose cloth for where you'll wear it

Saigon is hot all year, but your suit will live in your own climate. Tell us where and when you'll wear it.

  • Northern Europe, North America, winter use: a medium-weight wool or flannel.
  • Year-round office wear in a mild climate: a mid-weight worsted wool.
  • Hot climates, summer weddings: an open-weave tropical wool, or linen and cotton blends if you don't mind some creasing.

What to bring to your first appointment

  • The shoes you plan to wear with the suit, so the trouser length is right.
  • A shirt that fits you well, to set the jacket sleeve length.
  • A jacket you already like the fit of, if you have one with you.
  • Photos of styles you like, saved on your phone.
  • Your flight date, so we can plan fittings around it.

After you fly home

If something needs a small adjustment once you're home, a local alterations tailor can take care of sleeve or trouser length.
